About the Competition

How it works

The Allstate SEC Women's Champions Cup is a new, year-long competition celebrating excellence in women's athletics across the conference. Through this program, Allstate proudly champions female student-athletes and elevates the visibility of women's sports across all SEC campuses. Schools earn points based on regular-season performance, national championship appearances, and academic achievements, with the top-scoring program crowned overall champion at the end of the academic year. The winning program will receive a scholarship donation from Allstate, along with the Allstate SEC Women's Champions Cup Trophy. For complete rules and additional details, please continue below.

Criteria & Rules

How points are awarded
SEC Regular Season Finish
Points are awarded in descending order based on the number of teams competing in each sport. For sports without regular-season standings (e.g., XC, equestrian, swimming & diving, T&F, golf, rowing), points are awarded based on finish at the SEC Championship. For example, in women's basketball – all 16 schools compete in the sport – the SEC champion will earn 16 points, while the second-place team will earn 15 points, etc.
National Championships
Teams that win an NCAA or NCEA team championship earn an additional 10 points for that sport.
SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year
3 points are awarded to the institution whose student-athlete earns the Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award for each sport (determined by head coaches' vote).
Additional Considerations
  • Only the top seven scored sports count in the overall standings.
  • Ties are not broken; tied teams split allotted points.
  • Cross Country + Indoor T&F + Outdoor T&F count as one sport (Outdoor 50%, XC 25%, Indoor 25%).

About the Southeastern Conference

A pioneer in the integration of higher education and athletic competition, the Southeastern Conference is a leader for intercollegiate athletics in the 21st century. Since its formation in 1933, the SEC has achieved stature and stability by designating governing/voting power to the presidents of the member institutions. These university leaders determine the policies of the conference and through the years this involvement has been the principal source of strength in the evolution of the SEC. Throughout its history, the SEC has provided leadership on the vital issues facing intercollegiate competition. Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Tennessee and Vanderbilt have been in the SEC since its formation in 1933. The league has expanded three times, adding Arkansas and South Carolina in 1991, Missouri and Texas A&M in 2012, and Oklahoma and Texas 2024.
